This college is the only aided Higher Education Institution in the tehsil to cater the educational needs of Mokhada nearby vicinity of students. It has been restated that the college is shaping up physically and mentally through public participation. The college is involved in educating tribal, downtrodden and economically weaker sections of the society from the Palghar district. About 8.6 acres of land of the college is donated by Government of Maharashtra to the parent institute Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara. The college has a reputation for doing good for the tribal community. Due to this dedicated work, alumni, various NGOs, philanthropists and generous people whole heartedly offer donations to the college to facilitate the community. For construction of the New Shatabdi Building, Rs. 1 crore have been donated by Hon’ble President Shri. Sharadchandraji Pawar, Rs. 1 crore donated by Hon’ble Loknete Ramsheth Thakur and Rs. 1 crore by parent institute Rayat Shikshan Sanstha.

In this way, major donors contributed to the development of tribal community by donating through college administration for betterment of tribal students with various careers and training programs which ultimately improve their health and standard of living as a whole. Therefore, it’s the moral responsibility of the institution to make die hard efforts to empower the nearby rural youth and return something to the society. For this purpose, CDC, IQAC and stakeholders are rigorously working through various programmes and organizing innovative activities. A good yardstick of institutional success is the alignment of its behavior and initiatives with its vision and mission.

Areas of Priority and Thrust –

The college is strongly committed towards the development of youth and the history and culture of the Mokhada tehsil. The college has following distinctive programmes i.e. Biofloc Project, Earn and Learn scheme, Innovative Programmes, Medicinal plants survey of Suryamal area, Varli Painting, etc.

1) Biofloc Project: The Energy Resources Institution (TERI), Mumbai in collaboration with college installed Biofloc technology project for fish farming techniques for tribal people concerned with getting job and occupation.

2) Earn and Learn Scheme: This is one of the best example to describe the approach of the college towards the students. The college runs the scheme for all the students who belong to socially and economically weaker class. The students have been working for two hours either in the library or in the office and paid for this work. This scheme is supported by the college through its own funds.

3) Innovative Programmes: To develop innovative insights among college students and teachers, the college has carried out 22 innovative projects. Total 110 students participated in various innovative projects that have been useful for tribal community and common people in the society at large.

4) Medicinal plants survey of Suryamal area: Tribal people from Suryamal area of Mokhada tehsil are known for the use of various unknown plants for the treatment of fractured bones since centuries. Therefore, Department of Botany took initiative for collecting this information from Tribal people of Suryamal area and visit frequently at Suryamal area and play important role to spread the awareness in the society about use of this medicine.

5) Varli Painting: Varli painting is a form of tribal art mostly created by the tribal people from the North Sahyadri Range in Maharashtra and especially in Palghar district. In order to promote and conservation of this tribal traditional art form, the college has organized various training programme on ‘Varli Painting’. The college has signed MOU with ‘Adivasi Kala Savardhan and Vikas Sanstha, Jawhar’ for training, promotion and coordination of Varli painting activities. These changes will also increase the employability opportunities for the students.

6) Tarpa Tribal Folk Dance: is the most popular and colourful folk dance among the Varli, Kokna and Koli tribes, and is best seen in Palghar district of Maharashtra. This is one of the main attractions in Palghar district. The students from our college have participated in University level cultural Programme i.e. Youth Festival and received first prize for the excellent performance in ‘Tarpa’ Tribal Folk Dance.

7) Bohada Festival: The Mokhada is one of the oldest and historical cities and has holistic background and Bohada is one of the most important tribal festivals in the Mokhada area. After Holi, this festival is celebrated every night for five days in the guise of characters from Ramayana and Mahabharata.

8) Heritage Walk: The college has organized ‘Heritage Walk’ through field visit on the fort Bhaskargad by involving the students, also a field visit was taken to Vashala caves at Vashala. There are various historical monuments (Viragal) at Khoch, Palasunde, Chas, Palaspada, Nangarmol, Wakharicha Pada in Mokhada area.

9) Social Activities: The college organizes ‘Blood Donation, Haemoglobin and Health Check-Up Camps’ not only for the students and staff but schools and other people from nearby villages. The college has organized an innovative programme of ‘Vaccination Campaign’ in collaboration with ‘Rural Hospital, Mokhada’. This campaign was made tremendously successfully by the students and staff. After the appeal by the college, nice response given by college staff and students as well as citizens from Mokhada. This Vaccination drive was much appreciated by Hon’ble joint director government of Maharashtra in online review meeting of Palghar district on 30th October 2021.   

The college is surrounded by natural beauty i.e. fruit trees, huge peepal tree, beautiful ornamental garden, mango garden and botanical garden with medicinal plants.

Quality infrastructure for quality education:  The college is expanding its infrastructural facilities with the chronological timescale. Each and every stakeholder feels free to suggest the ideas for the development of the college. It is the promise of the college to empower the tribal youth with quality education. Many students are benefitted from the college infrastructure and joined the services in private and public sector.

It is the dream of our college to embolden the talent of students and let them emerge. This can be achieved only through disciplined systematic education which college is imparting.
